A peel does not bleach anything and it does not sit on your skin. It is controlled resurfacing, with the depth selected for your skin, so the damaged surface lifts away and what is underneath gets to be the surface instead. Performed in Lekki, Lagos, by a medic-led team.

The dark patch that appeared after a spot cleared and then simply stayed. The unevenness across your cheeks that foundation covers but never fixes. The tone that looks fine in the mirror and dull in every photograph.
You have probably spent a lot on this already. The brightening serum. The vitamin C. The thing somebody swore by. Some of it helps. None of it removes the layer the marks are actually in.
A peel does. A solution is applied for a controlled length of time, it loosens the bonds holding the damaged surface layer in place, and over the following days that layer lifts and goes. What replaces it is newer skin that has not been through what the old surface has.
That is the whole idea, and it is why a peel works on tone and texture when a product cannot.
We are putting this high on the page rather than in the small print, because it is the single most important thing to understand before you book a peel anywhere in Lagos.
Melanin-rich skin responds differently to trauma. A peel that is too strong for the skin it is used on does not simply fail. It can trigger post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, a dark mark that can outlast the one you came in to treat, sometimes by a year.
So the depth is chosen for you. We start conservatively and build across a course rather than reaching for the strongest option on the first visit. It is slower. It is also the difference between a peel that works and a peel you regret.
If somebody offers you a peel without looking at your skin first, that is the answer to your question.
If you are not sure which side you fall on, book the Customised Facial and we will read your skin on the day rather than guess from a booking form.
Both take away the surface. One does it chemically, one does it physically, and they suit different skin and different budgets.
If your concern is dullness and rough texture, microdermabrasion does it with no downtime and costs considerably less. If your concern is pigmentation and marks, a peel reaches what microdermabrasion cannot.
Nobody warns people properly about days three to five, and that is when the messages arrive.
Tight, slightly pink, a bit like mild sun exposure. Most people go about their evening normally.
Your skin starts to feel dry and rough. This is it beginning to lift. Moisturise, do not exfoliate.
The flaking. It is not elegant and it is entirely normal. Do not pick or pull at it. Peeling skin off before it is ready is exactly how you get a mark where there was not one.
Even tone, smoother texture, and skin that takes makeup properly again. Most people book the next one once they have seen this.
Your new surface has never seen the sun. In Lagos, going without protection in the weeks after a peel is the fastest way to undo the treatment you just paid for, and it can leave you with more pigmentation than you started with. We will tell you exactly what to use and for how long. It is the single most important part of the aftercare and it is the part most people skip.

Anybody can buy a peel solution. What takes judgement is deciding how strong, how long, and whether today is the right day for your skin at all.
Crystalline is a medic-led clinic founded by Nurse Liz, with more than six years of NHS experience and more than a decade in the beauty industry. She was named Aesthetician of the Year at the BFH Gala 2024.
Through the Crystalline Academy we also train other practitioners, which means the standard we teach is the standard we have to work to.
We would rather do a gentler peel and see you again than take your money for a strong one and leave you with a mark.
Sixty minutes. No consultation required. Choose your appointment, pay online, and we will see you at Crystalline.
Pigmentation is built up over years and it does not leave in one appointment. Most people see the real change across a course, and we will tell you honestly at your review whether another is worth it.

The marks you have been concealing for years are in a layer no product reaches. A peel removes that layer, carefully, at a depth chosen for your skin, and lets the skin underneath be the one people see.
Sixty minutes. No consultation. And if your skin is not ready today, we will tell you that instead.
Never overdone. Always elegant.
